Appointment Of New CEO For Sustainable Timber Tasmania

Dean Kearney has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Timber Tasmania.

Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Felix Ellis, congratulated Mr Kearney, who was selected following a comprehensive recruitment process.

"Mr Kearney brings extensive experience in forest and land management across a 25-year career," Minister Ellis said.

"I also thank Greg Hickey, Sustainable Timber Tasmania's General Manager of Operations for his leadership while Acting in the CEO role since the retirement of Steve Whiteley in July."

Mr Hickey will continue as Acting CEO until Mr Kearney commences in the role on 2 February 2026.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government will continue to back our jobs-rich, sustainable and renewable forestry sector.
