Appointment Of Open Government Forum Members 8 May

The Albanese Government has appointed new civil society members to Australia's next Open Government Forum.

The Forum is a core component of Australia's participation in the Open Government Partnership, a multilateral initiative that promotes open government and public sector integrity.

The Forum will play an important leadership role in advancing open government reform. Civil society members will work in partnership with government members to develop, implement and monitor Australia's Fourth Open Government National Action Plan, which will build on the important work delivered under Australia's Third National Action Plan 2024 - 2025 .

New members appointed to the Forum:

  • Dr Mark Zirnsak (civil society co-chair)
  • Mr Ravi Krishnamurthy
  • Mr Clancy Moore
  • Professor Emerita Anne Twomey
  • Ms Cara Varian
  • Professor Kimberlee Weatherall

An equal number of government representatives will participate in the Forum, with Deputy Secretary Sarah Chidgey PSM of the Attorney‑General's Department serving as government co‑chair. The Forum will hold its first meeting on 19 May 2026.

The Government thanks the outgoing Open Government Forum members for their effort and diligence throughout co-creation and implementation of Australia's Third National Action Plan.
