With five years remaining to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ESCWA released a new report highlighting key challenges to their realization. The report assesses the region's progress across all 17 SDGs, their 169 targets, and associated indicators, providing an overview by Goal and identifying immediate priorities that require urgent collective action to meet the 2030 Agenda.
The report further highlights key achievements, gaps, and strategies to accelerate SDG implementation, while underscoring the importance of strengthening national statistical systems, improving data disaggregation, and fostering regional cooperation to support evidence-based policymaking and effective monitoring.
The report serves as a resource for stakeholders involved in the prioritization, planning, implementation, and follow-up of the 2030 Agenda in the Arab region.
