Ararat and Stawell locals learn more about minerals exploration

We would like to thank the community around Ararat and Stawell for their contributions to two minerals exploration webinars held this week.

It is important that minerals exploration is understood by communities. The webinars updated locals on a minerals exploration licence recently issued to Victorian-based explorer Gippsland Prospecting. The licence allows the company to search for gold, copper and other minerals in an 800 square kilometre area west of Ararat and Stawell, excluding the Grampians National Park.

Participants were given opportunities to ask questions of the department and Gippsland Prospecting prior to and during the webinar. Responses to all questions will emailed directly to attendees in mid-December.

If you missed the webinars, a recording of the sessions will soon be made available online.
