Armed Crime Squad Seeks Leads in Coolaroo Shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives are today releasing CCTV and appealing for public assistance following an incident where a man was shot in Coolaroo earlier this month.

It is understood three men were standing outside a property on Pearson Crescent about 4.10pm on Friday, 11 April when they were approached by a black BMW.

The vehicle turned from Kyabram Street into Pearson Crescent, before two men got out of the car.

They approached the victim, a 22-year-old Mickleham man, firing several shots as he ran down a driveway towards a house and over a fence.

The gunmen then fled the scene in the BMW.

A short time later, the victim self-presented to a hospital in Epping with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his lower body.

The two other men with him were not physically injured during the incident.

The BMW X6 is known to have travelled east along Barry Road in Campbellfield, before travelling south on Sydney Road around 4.15pm following the incident.

The car has not yet been recovered.

Investigators are releasing an image and CCTV of the vehicle, captured travelling past Upfield Railway Station around 4pm on that same day, in the hope someone may recognise it and be able to provide information on its current whereabouts.

Detectives are urging anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have dashcam footage or any knowledge of the incident to come forward and speak to police.

Police believe the incident was targeted.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or any other information that could assist police with their enquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
