Armed man in Upper Coomera, QLD

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after an incident involving a man allegedly armed with a firearm in Upper Coomera this morning., Queensland Police say

It will be alleged around 10.30am a man attended a Meadowbank Drive address armed with a firearm and made threats towards residents known to him.

A 67-year-old male neighbour attempted to disarm the man and a struggle ensued.

The man then fled the scene.

A short time later police received a report of a car stolen by a man armed with a firearm on Guy Court at Oxenford.

Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at Oxenford where he was taken into custody nearby around 11.30am.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
