Armed robbery at Helensvale and Robina, QLD

Police are investigating an incident at Helensvale and Robina yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Around 1.30pm two men attended a shopping centre car park on Milaroo Drive in a black Mitsubishi Lancer sedan.

The passenger approached a man who had just parked his BMW sedan.

He produced a knife and placed the man in a headlock before demanding his keys, which were handed over.

He then attempted to start the vehicle but was unable to do so before re-entering the Mitsubishi sedan and driving off.

The 41-year-old man did not sustain any physical injuries.

Around 2.15pm the men attended an address on Fairlight Ave in the Mitsubishi sedan. The passenger approached a woman who had just parked her white BMW X3 station wagon Queensland registration 981WCO in the garage.

The man produced a knife and demanded her to exit the vehicle.

She complied, and the man drove off in her vehicle.

The Mitsubishi sedan also drove off.

The 43-year-old woman did not sustain any physical injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
