Armed robbery at Park Ridge, QLD

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Park Ridge in the early hours of this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 2.00am, a man cycled to the front of the locked business on Chambers Flat Road on a red push-bike, then gained entry when the employee was removing rubbish from the store.

The man approached the front counter and waited for the employee to return from the bins, before producing a knife and demanding cash and cigarettes.

The attendant handed over cigarettes and lighters, but the robbery was interrupted when a delivery-truck driver pulled into the car-park.

The man fled the scene on his bicycle with multiple cartons of cigarettes and several lighters. He was last seen cycling towards Park Ridge Road.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s, tall, with a slim build. He was wearing black tracksuit pants, a black long sleeve shirt and black cap at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information as to the identity of this man is urged to contact police.
