Armed robbery at Waterford West, QLD

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a couple at Waterford West in the early hours of this morning.

Preliminary information indicates that around 4.45am, four men attended a unit on Bourke Street in a white four-wheel drive, where one of the men armed with a large flick-knife exited the vehicle and gained entry to the unit through the front door.

The man confronted the 21-year-old male and 21-year-old female occupants – who were known to the man – before stealing the woman's car-keys.

The man then used the keys to steal her 2008 blue Kia Rio bearing NSW registration plates "BIM 58G" (similar to the one pictured), while his three friends left in the white four-wheel-drive.

The occupants were uninjured during the incident.

The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance. Two of his friends in the car are also described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance while one is described as Caucasian.

Police urge anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.
