Armed robbery charge at Aitkenvale, QLD

Townsville police investigating an incident in which a woman was threatened with a knife and her car stolen at Aitkenvale early yesterday morning (September 17) have charged a teenager with armed robbery, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that shortly after 1.10am the woman had just returned to her vehicle- which was parked in the driveway of a Nathan Street petrol station- when she was threatened with a knife and forcibly pulled from the driver’s seat.

A 15-year-old Kirwan boy was last night charged with armed robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and commit an indicatable offence. The boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
