Armed Robbery charge at Glenview, QLD

Detectives have charged a 29-year-old woman with armed robbery and a number of other offences following an alleged incident that occurred at Glenview today, Queensland Police say.

Police will allege that at around 11.20am this morning a black Hyundai being driven by the woman was observed driving erratically in Landsborough.

It is then alleged a short time later the same vehicle was involved in a crash with another vehicle on Steve Irwin Way near the Mooloolah Connection Road.

Following the crash, the 29-year-old is alleged to have continued to drive her car with the vehicle stopping a short distance away. A 22-year-old man who witnessed the crash has approached the woman and it is further alleged the woman then entered his car and attempted to drive away in it.

The man has prevented her from doing this and she is then alleged to have walked from the scene and attempted to stop a number of vehicles travelling along the road.

It is further alleged that she has stopped a white van being driven by a 48-year-old woman producing a knife and demanding she get out of the vehicle. The driver complied and the 29-year-old has then driven off in the vehicle.

Around an hour later police have attended a residence in Nambour where it is alleged the woman has attempted to flee and in the process has assaulted a female officer.

The 29-year-old Nambour woman was arrested and taken into custody where she was charged with one count each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted unlawful use of a vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, serious assault of a police officer, driving without a licence and failure to appear in accordance with an undertaking.

She is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The stolen white 2008 Mercedes Benz Vito van with company signage has not been recovered and is believed to be in the Nambour CBD or Hospital areas.
