Armed robbery – Palm Beach

Police are searching for a man who used a firearm to rob a jewellery store at Palm Beach today., Queensland Police say

Around 11.30am police were called to the Gold Coast Highway business after a man entered the business posing as a customer.

The man viewed a number of items from the store at which time he produced a handgun and demanded the stock.

The 50-year-old female store attendant struck the man with a metal object at which time he grabbed an item and fled the store.

He was seen to get into a silver hatchback and headed north along the Gold Coast Highway.

No one was injured during the robbery and no other customers or staff were in the store.

Investigations are continuing.
