Arrest after Para Hills pursuit, South Australia

A man has been arrested after a pursuit at Para Hills this morning.

Police will allege that about 3.10am on Monday, 18 February a patrol saw a green Toyota Soarer sedan with stolen trade plates on Nelson Road.

When police attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped away and was pursued for several minutes before the car was abandoned in Muriel Drive, Pooraka. The male driver ran off, leaving his female passenger behind.

Extra patrols and a police dog were called to the area to assist in the search, and the suspect was located in the backyard of a house in Muriel Drive.

The 31-year-old Para Hills man was charged with driving dangerously to escape a police pursuit, breach of provisional licence conditions, and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
