Detectives from Burnie CIB have arrested and charged a 15 year old Wynyard youth with burglary and arson following a fire at the Wynyard Bowls Club on Thursday night, Tasmania Police say.
The arrest was made on Friday afternoon. The youth will appear before the Youth Justice Court in the near future.
Western District Police Acting Commander Craig Joel said that, whilst the arrest was a pleasing development, enquiries are continuing into an ongoing spate of burglary, damage and arson in the Wynyard area. "Detectives have a particular line of enquiry which is being followed to solve these crimes and offences. Yesterday’s arrest will assist in advancing those enquiries", he said.
