Arrest following Hallett Cove fire, South Australia

A man has been charged after emergency services responded to a grass fire in Hallett Cove this morning.

About 3.40am Sunday 20 January, police and MFS were called to the intersection of Capella Drive and Perry Bar Road after residents in the area reported a fire burning on the northern side of the road.

Fire crews brought the blaze under control within minutes, with approximately 30 square metres of grass being burnt. There was not damage to any property. Police searched the area and located a car parked on the street nearby that had been broken in to.

A short time later police allegedly located a 19-year-old Hallett Cove man in the area and placed him under arrest. He has been charged with illegal interference of motor vehicle and arson and is expected to be bailed to appear in court at a later date.
