Arrest Made in Alice Springs Aggravated Robbery 24 November

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a male youth in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday evening.

Around 7:05pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of an alarm being activated at a service station on Dalgety Road in Braitling.

It is alleged a group of up to six male youths entered the service station and began taking items from the shelves. One of the offenders, aged 12, produced an edged weapon and allegedly threatened the 40-year-old male employee at the counter.

The group left the store, before the armed offender returned and threatened the employee again.

Police attended and arrested the 12-year-old male. The remaining youths were conveyed home into the care of a responsible adult.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

The 12-year-old has since been charged with Aggravated robbery and Armed with an offensive weapon and will appear in court today.
