Arrest of man, Nerang

Police have arrested a man at Nerang this afternoon following an alleged domestic violence incident at Upper Coomera on March 15 and two subsequent emergency declarations under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) yesterday and today.

At 4.06pm this afternoon, police made an emergency declaration under the PSPA at Baloo Street, where they arrested a 37-year-old man shortly after.

The PSPA was revoked at 4.22pm.

During the course of the arrest, the man received a police dog bite to the forearm and was subsequently transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains under police guard.

No one else was injured during the incident.

Charges have yet to be laid.
