Arrest of woman following traffic stop, SA

A woman has been arrested in St Clair this morning after police uncovered drugs and a concealed weapon, according to SA Police.

Just after 1am, Tuesday 12 September, patrols spotted a car travelling on Actil Avenue. When the driver spotted police she immediately pulled over and got out of the car.

Thinking this was unusual behaviour police stopped behind the car and spoke to the driver a 39-year-old woman. Checks revealed she had a disqualified licence.

Police will allege a search of the woman’s car uncovered an amount of illicit substances and paraphernalia, also a knife concealed as a credit card and prescription medication without a prescription.

The woman from Kilburn was arrested and charged with driving disqualified, carry prohibited weapon and possess prescription medication. While the drugs and paraphernalia were seized and the woman was fined.

The woman’s car was impounded for 28 days, she will face the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
