Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man in relation to a series of fires in Brimbank, Victoria Police say.
Police were patrolling The Avenue, Sunshine West about 3.50pm today when they noticed a suspicious car with false plates parked in the street.
The members saw a 40-year-old Attwood man get out of the car and walk a short distance from the vehicle.
He was arrested by police and is expected to be interviewed in relation to fires in Fitzgerald Road, Sunshine West and Grassland Crescent, Cairnlea on 14 January.
He is currently assisting police with their enquires.
