Arrest over Renmark cannabis crop, SA

A man has been arrested after further investigation into the discovery of a drug crop near Renmark, according to SA Police.

In January this year, police located 6 hydroponically grown plants and about 11kg of dried cannabis on a property at Chaffey.

This morning, officers from Drug and Organised Crime Task Force arrested a 26-year-old from Angle Vale.

He has been charged with possessing a large commercial quantity of cannabis, cultivate cannabis and possess prescribed equipment.

He has been bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on 27 June.

Police remind the public that the growing of cannabis is illegal. This activity puts the offender, their family and neighbours at risk. Police ask that if anyone has information relating to the growing or manufacture of illicit drugs that they contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
