Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate Stanley Turvey after evading police in the Shepparton area today.

Police were at a property in Katandra West as part of an investigation to arrest Turvey when he approached police armed with a firearm just after midday.

Turvey then fled the scene in a vehicle.
