Arrests - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested three youth in relation to an unlawful entry, stolen motor vehicle and pursuit in Alice Springs at the weekend.

It is alleged just after 7:15pm on Saturday, three girls unlawfully entered an occupied home in Gillen where they located car keys and stole the occupant’s vehicle, Northern Territory Police say.

Around 10:30pm members observed the stolen vehicle, which failed to stop for police and a pursuit initiated.

The vehicle eventually stopped at a Larapinta Drive fuel station and the three offenders were arrested by police when fleeing the vehicle.

A 13-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle
  • Drive Dangerous during a police pursuit
  • Drive at a speed dangerous
  • Drive unlicensed

Two girls, aged 11 and 10 will be subject to Youth Diversion actions.
