Three female youths have been arrested following an aggravated robbery in Tennant Creek this morning.
Around 6:45am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received a report of an assault at a grocery store on Paterson Street.
It is alleged an adult female employee had attended the site and was entering the store via a rear door when three female youths approached her. They attempted to take her handbag from her, resulting in her being thrown to the ground and injuring her shoulder. One of the offenders allegedly produced a knife during the altercation.
The offenders stole an apron from the victim and fled the scene on foot, discarding the apron a short distance away.
The victim was conveyed to hospital for assessment by a fellow staff member.
General duties members responded and located and arrested the three female youths aged 14, 14, and 16-years-old. They remain in police custody with charges expected to follow.
