Arrests - Property Crime - Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have arrested six people in relation to recent property crimes in Tennant Creek.

A local business had been unlawfully entered multiple times over the past month with property damaged and quantities of alcohol and food being stolen, Northern Territory Police say.

Through the collection of forensic evidence and CCTV footage, police were able to ascertain the identity of all offenders.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a Tennant Creek residence resulting in the recovery of a number of stolen items and the arrest of three adult males and three male youths, aged between 13 and 19.

The offenders were charged with multiple counts of:

  • Unlawful Entry
  • Stealing
  • Damage to Property

Two adults, both aged 18, and a 17-year-old youth were remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Local Court later this week. A 19-year-old male and a 15-year-old male were granted bail to appear in Tennant Creek Local Court next month. Another youth was released for consideration for youth diversion.
