Arrests - Pursuits - Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested five youths in relation to a pursuit.

Around 5:00am on Saturday 30 June police received a report of intruders on premises at a Winnellie address, Northern Territory Police say.

Police were making their way to the location when they observed a suspicious vehicle which failed to stop. Police commenced a pursuit which was terminated a short time after.

Not long after police cancelled the pursuit, the vehicle was sighted on CCTV. A tyre deflation device was deployed which resulted in the vehicle coming to a stop. Five youths fled the vehicle and were arrested a short time after. The youths were uninjured however were conveyed to hospital for assessment.

Also around 5:00am, another vehicle which was reported stolen was pursued by police on Temple Terrace, Palmerston. The occupants exited the moving vehicle and fled the area which resulted in a low impact collision with a fence. Due to the slow speeds only minor damage was sustained.

The offenders remain outstanding.
