Northern Territory Police have taken five youth into custody in relation to a number of offences committed overnight in Alice Springs.

Around 9am Police received a report of a stolen white Toyota Landcruiser travelling inbound on the Santa Teresa Road. Officers targeted the area, but were unable to stop the stolen vehicle and the pursuit was subsequently terminated, Northern Territory Police say.

Around 11:25am Police Officers and a Remote Piloted Aircraft were deployed to the Larapinta area after the vehicle was spotted in bushland.

The youth abandoned the stolen motor vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Officers controlling the Remote Piloted Aircraft spotted the group and were able to track them until all five offenders were arrested and taken into Police custody.

Five boys aged 12 to 15-years-old will assist Police with their enquiries in relation to the unlawful entry of three residential properties and two stolen motor vehicles in Alice Springs overnight.
