Arson and Explosives Squad detectives are investigating a fatal house fire that has claimed the lives of two people in Point Cook this morning.
Two people, who are yet to be formally identified were located deceased inside the property on Totem Way.
Police are yet to establish if there is anyone else inside the property and arson chemists will continue examining the scene for some time.
Emergency services were called to the property following reports of a house fire which had spread to nearby residences about 3.40am.
The townhouse was destroyed by the blaze and two neighbouring properties were also damaged.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined however police are treating it as suspicious.
