Arson And Stolen Vehicle Appeal, Earlville

Police are appealing for public assistance following a stolen vehicle fire in Earlville early this morning, 12 August.

Initial information indicates about 2.05am, a stolen silver Hyundai i40 was abandoned at the front of a block of units in the driveway entrance on Balaclava Road, before being set on fire.

Police evacuated nearby residents while multiple explosions occurred due to the vehicle fire.

The adjoining boundary fence was damaged and neighbouring complex was evacuated.

The blaze was extinguished around 2.20am and residents returned to their homes a short time later.

No one was injured as a result of the incident and a crime scene was declared.

The vehicle was stolen from a Mintaro Crescent, Woree address between 5.30am and 7am on Monday, 11 August.

Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage, to come forward.
