Arson charges at Coopers Plains, QLD

Detectives have charged a woman with arson following investigations into a unit fire at Coopers Plains yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Around 3.50pm police and emergency services were called to the Cromer Street address where a building was on fire.

Nearby units were evacuated as a precaution before the fire was extinguished a short time later.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the unit and several neighbouring properties.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested this morning and has been charged with one count each of arson and endangering property by fire.

She has been refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
