A man has been charged after allegedly setting fire to a home in the state's Central Coast.
About 1.30pm on Friday 23 May 2025, emergency services were called to a home on Dunvegan Street, Mannering Park, following reports of a house fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW worked to extinguish the fire, however the property sustained significant damage.
A 64-year-old man was located at the scene suffering injury to his arm, and an off-duty police officer and officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District rendered first aid, before the man was taken to hospital for further treatment.
A crime scene was established and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.
The fire was treated as suspicious.
Following the man's release from hospital yesterday (Tuesday 3 June 2025), he was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with damage property by fire/explosive greater than $15000 (DV).
He was refused bail to appear before Gosford Local Court the same day
