Bridgewater CIB is investigating an arson incident at a Gagebrook residence in the early hours of this morning, Tasmania Police say.
Shortly after midnight on Wednesday 13 September 2017, Police and Tasmania Fire Service attended a structure fire at 32 Plymouth Road, Gagebrook.
The residence was completely engulfed by fire when Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) arrived, resulting in extensive damage to the property estimated at $160 000.
TFS conducted a scene examination and determined the fire was deliberately lit, and Tasmania Police have commenced an investigation.
Tasmania Police would like to encourage the local community to assist police with any information that may be relevant to the fire and are encouraged to contact Bridgewater CIB on 131444.
