Musicians, dancers and street performers can submit their expressions of interest now to take part in a micro-festival in the heart of Townsville.
Sounds on Flinders will transform Flinders Lane into a vibrant hub of local music, movement and performance on Saturday November 8.
The new micro-festival is being delivered as part of Council's Live and Local initiative in partnership with the Live Music Office, APRA AMCOS and QMusic and with support from Flinders Lane.
Townsville Acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney said Sounds on Flinders was the next step in Council's Live and Local initiative.
"Council has worked together with our partners to give Townsville musicians the chance to gain industry support through professional development workshops and to connect with venues across the city for live performance opportunities," Cr Greaney said.
"The workshops held in June were very well attended and the feedback we received was excellent, and now we're ready to showcase the talents of Townsville's performers at Sounds on Flinders."
Cr Greaney said performers could complete an expression of interest now to be part of the action.
"We're looking for all sorts of performers to be part of the Sounds on Flinders festival lineup," she said.
"This is a paid opportunity for musicians, dancers and street performers to showcase their passions and talents with the whole city, so if you're a creative get your expression of interest in now."
