Townsville artists can make their vision a reality with this year's Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant round opening next month.
RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Townsville City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support local arts, culture and heritage projects across the Townsville region.
Council is running a series of information sessions starting this month to help applicants navigate their eligibility, project planning and application preparation. These free workshops including two online sessions, running from 6pm to 7pm on Friday 28 August and Friday 4 September 2026, as well as an in-person session from 10:30am to 11:30am on Saturday 29 August 2026 at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery.
Councillor Liam Mooney said these information sessions were a great chance to prepare ahead of the grant round opening.
"It's important for Council to continue its support of Townsville's local talent, which is why we're proud to be bringing a new round of RADF grants to local artists. If you have a creative idea and want to bring it to life, consider applying for a RADF grant to support you in your artistic journey," Cr Mooney said.
"Grants between $1,000 and $10,000 are available for eligible arts, culture and heritage projects like recording a new music album, hosting a visual arts workshop or writing a non-fiction history book.
"If you've never applied for a grant before the process can seem daunting, which is why Council is hosting three free workshops to help you prepare. These information sessions will help guide you through the process so you can put your best foot forward when it comes time to apply. Applications for this financial year's RADF grant round open on Monday 7 September and close on Friday 9 October 2026.
