Lixian brings extensive experience to Ashurst, having established a distinguished reputation across both the energy and infrastructure industries. Her expertise covers the full lifecycle of energy projects, with a particular focus on renewable energy generation, transmission, and storage. She is highly regarded for her expert skills in energy-focused construction and procurement, which are essential for the delivery of large-scale energy assets.
Throughout her career, Lixian has advised on the development and structuring of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, including wind farms, solar farms, battery projects, and hybrid solar/battery initiatives across Australia and Asia. Notably, she played a central role in the development of Australia's first Renewable Energy Zone, advising Acciona and Cobra on a landmark project that set a blueprint for subsequent transmission developments nationwide.
A former Ashurst alumna, Lixian returns to the firm following her tenure as a partner at Gilbert + Tobin, where she was instrumental in advising on some of Australia's groundbreaking energy projects.
Dan Brown, Co-Practice Head, Projects & Energy Transition (APAC), said:
"We're delighted to welcome Lixian back to the firm as we continue to invest in our Projects & Energy Transition practice. Her construction and procurement expertise is particularly timely as the market undergoes a rapid build-out of energy assets and investment in transmission infrastructure. Lixian's expertise will be instrumental in supporting our clients as they navigate the dual imperatives of decarbonisation and energy security, both of which are central to Australia's energy future."
Lixian commented:
"I am excited to be returning to Ashurst at such a pivotal time for the energy sector, and to work alongside a talented team of global experts to deliver innovative solutions on some of the most significant renewable energy and transmission infrastructure projects in Australia and beyond. I look forward to contributing to the continued growth of the practice and helping our clients navigate the opportunities and challenges of this rapidly evolving market."
