Ashurst Guides InfraVia in Renewable Energy Merger

Global law firm Ashurst has advised InfraVia Capital Partners on its acquisition of a majority stake in both Mercia Power Response and Balance Power Projects Limited, merging the two companies together to form Supernova Power.

This brings together two complementary businesses to form a single, scaled, integrated storage and flexible power platform supporting the UK energy system and accelerating the energy transition and aligns with InfraVia's strategy of supporting the energy transition by enabling the acceleration of renewable energy deployment in the UK.

Infravia is a leading, independent private equity firm specialising in real assets. Mercia is a leading provider of flexible power response services to the UK grid and specialises in developing, constructing and operating flexible gas peaking plants and battery storage assets. Balance Power is a leading developer of battery storage sites in the UK, having delivered 39 projects since inception across different energy technologies.
