Detectives from the Ipswich Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) have charged a 17-year-old boy after he allegedly seriously assaulted a 15-year-old boy in New Chum last night, 12 October.
It will be alleged two boys, aged 14 and 15, connected with the 17-year-old boy on social media earlier in the day.
Around 6pm, the 17-year-old boy attended a Moorooka residence with a second boy in a car, where they met with the 14 and 15-year-old boys, before all four drove to Redbank Plains.
Once at Redbank Plains, it will be alleged the 17-year-old boy threatened the two younger boys with a knife.
The 14 and 15-year-old boys both fled the car, however the 15-year-old boy was caught by the 17-year-old boy and forced into the boot .
It is alleged the car was then driven to the New Chum area, where the boy was removed from the boot and assaulted with a hammer and a knife.
The boy was subject to further assaults and threats for approximately 20 minutes before he fled and sort assistance from a nearby member of the public.
Police declared a crime scene at a residence on Old Toowoomba Road at One Mile overnight and arrested a 17-year-old One Mile boy.
The 17-year-old One Mile boy has been charged with one count each of deprivation of liberty, armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, wounding, torture and possession of drug utensil (pipe).
He will appear in the Ipswich Childrens Court today, 13 October.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
The 15-year-old boy was transported to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The 14-year-old boy sustained no physical injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
