Assault and robbery at Pacific Pines, QLD

Detectives are investigating the assault and robbery of two men at Pacific Pines in the early hours of this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 3:15am the two men were with friends when they were approached by two men on Archipelago Street.

The men then became involved in an unprovoked altercation with the group resulting in the assault of two men.

As a result, a 17-year-old man was knocked unconscious and taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

An 18-year-old man was also treated for facial injuries at the scene and also taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Both men are in a stable condition.

A mobile phone was stolen from one of the men, but later located by police nearby.

A crime scene was declared with detectives and scientific officers attending.

Police have spoken to a number of witnesses and are appealing for anyone else who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to contact Policelink on 131 444.
