Assault appeal for witnesses in Rockhampton, QLD

Detectives investigating an alleged assault involving teenagers in Rockhampton on Sunday are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, Queensland Police say.

Between 9.30pm and 10pm, ramp an altercation occurred involving a group of juveniles allegedly assaulting two teenage girls and stealing some of their property on the Fitzroy Bridge footpath in close proximity to the Toft Street.

A 12-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl have since been arrested and charged with robbery offences.

Anyone in the area during 9.30pm and 10pm on Sunday who may be able to assist with investigations, particularly pedestrians or road users with dash cam footage, is urged to contact police.

Detectives are also attempting to identify a male person who stopped to assist the victims during this incident.

It is believed this male person drove up the on-ramp and stopped to assist, resulting in the offending persons fleeing the scene.
