A man has been arrested and charged over an alleged assault at a Bass Hill supermarket yesterday.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to the Hume Highway business about 12.30pm (Sunday 15 March 2020), responding to reports of an affray involving customers.
Police have been told a 54-year-old man was allegedly assaulted while waiting in a queue to pay for his groceries.
Following inquiries, a 39-year-old man was arrested at a home in Georges Hall about 5.15pm yesterday.
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he's now been charged with common assault. He's been granted conditional bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 1 April 2020.
Police do not believe the men were arguing over groceries.
