Assault Public Appeal At Gympie

Detectives from Gympie Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are appealing to the public for information regarding an assault in Gympie on 21 November.

At approximately 11.20pm on Friday night, police allege a 40-year-old male suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of an unprovoked assault on Mary Street, near Memorial Lane.

Detectives from Gympie CIB have charged a 21-year-old Gympie man with grievous bodily harm.

He is due to next appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on 23 February, 2026.

Police are seeking any witnesses, including a number of persons who are believed to have rendered assistance to the victim, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
