Assistant Minister visit to Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency

Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Senator Carol Brown, today visited the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) in Nusa Dua, Indonesia.

Since 2007, the Australian Government has partnered with the Indonesian Government to provide capacity-building to the Indonesian transport sector. This partnership is formalised through the Indonesian Transport Safety Assistance Package (ITSAP).

Under ITSAP, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) provides capacity-building to BASARNAS officers including through officer exchanges, training courses and staff development, joint search and rescue exercises, and technical workshops.
