Wentworth Flood Risk Study Survey Opens

Wentworth Shire

Wentworth Shire Council is inviting residents, landowners and businesses to help shape the future management of flood risk across the Shire by participating in the Wentworth Flood Risk Management Study and Plan Community Survey.

The Study and Plan follows the completion of the Wentworth Flood Study and will identify options to better manage flood risk and improve community resilience. This may include improvements to flood mitigation infrastructure, land use planning, emergency management and community awareness initiatives.

The project covers the communities of Wentworth, Dareton, Buronga, Gol Gol, Curlwaa and Pomona, and Council is seeking local knowledge, experiences and concerns about flooding to help inform future planning and decision-making.

Community feedback will assist Council and its consultants in identifying practical measures to manage existing and future flood risks, while supporting stronger community resilience.

The survey is open from 22 October to 18 November 2026.

Residents who have received a questionnaire in the mail are encouraged to complete and return it. Community members who have not received a questionnaire can participate online.
