ATA Seeks Nominations for Technical, Training Honors

The ATA has today opened nominations for its technical and training awards, which will be presented at its 2025 Technology and Maintenance Conference.

The award categories now open for nominations are-

  • Craig Roseneder Award for Technical and Maintenance Excellence, proudly sponsored by Castrol
  • National Training Excellence Award, proudly sponsored by bp, Castrol and the NHVR.

"These awards highlight the importance of technical expertise and training excellence in advancing a safer, more efficient and innovative trucking industry," ATA Chair Mark Parry said.

"They also honour the professionalism and dedication of the men and women working to keep the industry running despite growing challenges," he said.

The Craig Roseneder Award recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop by an individual.

The 2025 winner will receive a fully paid trip to the US to attend the 2026 US Technology and Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee from 16-19 March 2026. The prize package will include full registration, return airfares, accommodation and AUD1,500 spending money.

Past winners include industry workshop legends such as John Jenkin from Tatiara Truck & Trailers, Shane Pendergast from Air Brake Systems and Dennis Roohan from AJM Transport.

This year sees the launch of a refreshed National Training Excellence Award, which recognises transport operators with a demonstrated commitment to instilling a training and safety culture within their organisation.

The winner will receive a AUD7,000 prize package to be used toward staff training initiatives or a business services package with a training consultancy.

Nominations for the two awards close at 11pm (Canberra time) on Sunday 24 August 2025.

The award winners will be announced at the Castrol Gala Awards Dinner, to be held at the San Remo Ballroom, Melbourne, on Wednesday 15 October 2025 as part of TMC 25.

Also on the night, the ATA will announce the recipient of the Castrol Industry Achievement Award, which honours an individual or organisation that has developed and implemented new technologies or designed procedures to improve the industry's safety, efficiency or productivity.

The winner will be selected from a range of exceptional individuals and organisations. They do not need to nominate to be considered.
