ATM's Targeted In Break-ins

Northern District police are investigating links between two early morning break-ins at St Kilda and Virginia.

About 2.45am on Friday 3 July, police responded to alarm activations at a hotel on Fooks Terrace, St Kilda.

When patrols arrived, they discovered the front window had been smashed and an attempt made to remove the ATM. A cash drawer was stolen from the premises containing a small amount of cash.

Police then responded to a break-in at a service station on Old Port Wakefield Road, Virginia just after 4am.

Upon reviewing CCTV footage, a vehicle was used to gain access to the building before thieves stole the ATM and drove off.

Northern District CIB and crime scene officers have attended the scene.
