Police are investigating an attempt robbery at Modbury North overnight.
Just after midnight on Monday 16 December, a man armed with a hammer entered a hotel on Montague Road and demanded cash from staff.
The suspect attempted to open a cash till but he was unsuccessful and was last seen running off across Montague Road.
No staff were physically injured during the incident.
The suspect was described as 170cm tall with a medium to large build and was wearing a black hooded top and black pants.
