Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command have charged a man after he was allegedly caught breaking into a car at Dapto last month. , NSW Police say
About 2.00am on Sunday 29 October 2017, the owner of a vehicle that was parked outside his home on the Princes Highway woke when he heard a noise outside.
He went out to investigate and saw a man allegedly trying to break into his vehicle.
He disturbed the man who then ran from the scene.
The matter was reported to police at Lake Illawarra Local Area Command and an investigation was commenced.
As a result police yesterday (Wednesday 8 November 2017) charged an 18-year-old Wollongong man with attempt steal from motor vehicle.
He was given conditional bail and will appear on Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday 22 November 2017.
