Attempt To Murder Charges, Sandiford

Police have charged a 31-year-old man following a wounding incident at Mackay on 7 October.

It will be alleged around 2.30pm, a 40-year-old Oakenden man attended a Palm Tree Road address where an altercation occurred.

During this altercation, a 31-year-old allegedly fired a weapon in the direction of the 40-year-old man, who sustained a gunshot wound to his hip.

The man was later taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The 31-year-old man from Alligator Creek has been charged with one count of attempt to murder.

He is due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court today, 13 October.
