Attempted armed robbery in Manly West, QLD

Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in Manly West earlier today, Queensland Police say.

At around 5.30pm a man entered the Trevally Crescent armed with a small axe, threw a bag on the counter and demanded money from a female attendant.

A second female attendant confronted the man with a cardboard box and he grabbed the bag a ran out of the store empty handed.

The man was last seen entering a white SUV which then drove off.

He is described as, 170 to 180 centimetres tall, with a slim build and wearing a blue hoodie with the hood over his head, dark track pants and black shoes.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man or has more information to contact them.
