Attempted armed robbery in Southport, QLD

Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Southport service station this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 3.30am, a man entered the Marine Parade business armed with a large knife.

The man threatened the staff member and demanded cash, but fled the scene empty-handed.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

The man was wearing dark jeans, a long-sleeved dark top and had a black shirt wrapped around the lower part of his face.

There is no CCTV vision available at this time.
