Attempted armed robbery in Strathpine, QLD

Police have charged two men following an alleged attempted armed robbery in Strathpine this morning, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged at about 10.45am two men approached a 21-year-old man who was standing next to his vehicle on Maree Street before opening a door and placing their property inside.

It will be further alleged both men demanded money and car keys whilst one man was armed with a pole.

The 21-year-old man has run away whilst calling triple 000.

It will also be alleged the two men gave chase before fleeing along Stanley Street East.

Police arrived shortly after and arrested both men.

The 21-year-old man did not sustain any physical injuries.

A 19-year-old man from Murrumba Downs has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and will appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow (October 11).

A 21-year-old man from Lawnton has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and is scheduled to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on October 31.
